Are the notches at 12, 3 , 6 and 9 on the smoke ring?
We won't know more unless the OP returns and posts a photo. Lodge did make some 4-notch dutch ovens. There are also skillets marked Maid of Honor sold by Sears with four notches in the heat ring. However, those pans do not resemble Lodge in any way. The RB shows a 4-notch MOH pan as being made by Lodge, but in apparent confusion with the fact that Lodge supplied its regular pans to Sears which were paper labeled MOH. If you've ever seen one of the MOH 4-notch pans in person (I have one) you'd know it wasn't a Lodge product.
I bought this skillet with the same label...
and I think this is one of the 'maid of honor' skillets that doug d. was referring to ... very poor casting.
