Good Find?

I can't take credit for this one. I believe it's a small griddle. A friend found this. I've had it for a while, stripping and seasoning it, and now that it's done, I thought I'd share pics.

He also got a Wagner Ware 1891 D/O, w/Pyrex lid. Nothing of note, but a good one for cooking.

I like it. You did a good job cleaning it up. There is one like that downtown but they are asking $30 for it and that is to much for me to spend. I gave my griddle to my daughter so I am still looking for another one.

Good find. Keep it. Use it. It's the best way to grill pancakes and such. I have a 1970s BSR Breakfast Griddle that is square shaped and does a great job with pancakes.

That's a beauty, Stan! Buy that friend a beer! (or Coke, or whatever)

EC Price: "1970s BSR Breakfast Griddle". Thank you for showing this piece. Hubby just cleaned one this weekend, and while I thought it looked like good quality, we had NO idea what its origin might be. I was guessing Lodge because I know so little about Southern CI; now I can at least properly identify the item on a tag--next: How much should I try to sell this thing for? :-)

Sorry Sharon. It depends. Based on my limited BSR shopping my conclusion is somewhere between Lodge and Wagner, but ............

Sharon: Well, mine was in great shape, little if no use on it. It cleaned up well. It has a rough surface much like the new Lodges you can buy today. Birmingham Stove and Range (BSR) generally don't bring a lot of $$$ at least from what I've seen. Yet they are sturdy, robust CI. I paid $20 for mine, but...you might could squeeze $25-$30...who knows.

EC, thanks for the comment. I was kind of joking about what price to put on the (now ID'ed as BSR) breakfast pan. I appreciate the various remarks, and I think I'll put a fairly low price on it. I have had it for years and would like for it to go on to a new home where it will be properly appreciated. Now if that person would just appear with $$ in hand... :-)

Sell it??? Ya gonna miss out on the grilling great pancakes!!!! :(

EC, if I didn't have an embarrassing amount of CI and cooked more, I'd keep the BSR. Thanks for your comment on the price you paid. I'm still guessing, and I really hope someone who'll use it sees it!
