Graphite as anode

I came into possession of graphite as in brushes for a 200hp DC motor. Can anybody tell that if it might work or I'm looking at the wrong "graphite"?

Could be OK, but often graphite in those types of applications is actually a graphite/copper (or some other metal) composite. If that's a bad thing in the context of electrolysis CI cleaning, I can't say for sure.

Thanks for your input, I won't gamble, I'll just use regular steel plate , which I have quite a lot.
