Yes, you got the ERIE for 1/4 price and stole the Wagner. Now the wagner is a user pan as it's post 1960 so not collectable per se. You got a great deal I think.

Here is the Erie after a lye bath. there are some small carbon stains i could not get out. Pitting is minimal [very] and it has the normal tool marks and wear for its age. no damage at all. The rim and heat ring are pretty much intact, sans a few small dents that come with use.

next stop is vinegar

It looks good so far. After a little vinegar and a hand held Stainless Steel wire brush you will have yourself a treasure. That was a good score. :icon_thumbsup:

Thank you. Im very happy with my first collectible piece. There was very little rust so i went at it with steel wool. Then sprayed with full strength vinegar and steel wool. Rinsed then seasoned and put in the oven. I used lard to season. It is now on the cooling process

I'll second Bryan. Really now, what could be more natural for a piece of CI that is going to cook bacon, pork chops, beef, seafood and chicken to create a good seasoning than lard?
