Backstory...

So this a.m. I hit up the local fish-monger for some Norwegian Salmon filets (ok, if you must know, baked Parmesan herb (Thyme/chives) crusted (bread crumbs) with ginger carrots). On the way home I thought I'd just drop in to the local Thrift and see what has surfaced. Glad I did... found this ? Marseille Blue Le Creuset enameled #27 deep skillet with lid. Somehow it has survived without flea bites in the enamel. Washed it up...it looks pretty darn good. I gave $14.99...(and donated the penny .) I think I'll keep it.

p.s. I bought a Power Ball ticket also...hehehehe.

Thanks guys.... it is a heavy one. The historical reputation of Le Creuset for great enamel work is still evident in this piece. I do like the lifting tab (opposite the handle). I'm thinking I'll keep an eye out for a stainless steel lid knob as sure as shootin' I'll forget about the temperature limits on the existing knob.... fortunately, replacement knobs are readily available (I think around $20.00). Liking the "unenameled" cast interior ... less for me to worry about damaging.

All in all.... a good find. Now, to put it to work ! No shelf sitters allowed.:icon_thumbsup:

Nice score! I've gotten lucky a couple of times at thrift stores. So, I'm batting about .0000000000001. Thanks for giving me hope to keep trying!
