Griswold #14

I was just curious how often do you come across a Griswold #14? I'd love to spot one in a heap of junk somewhere but they seem pretty far and few between...... :-(

I've seen a couple. I think one had a $675 price tag. I ran across a #20 the other day. I want to find a #13 in a rusty pile of skillets...

I've seen at least 4 Wagner-made Griswold 14s and as many Lodge 14s of various ages around this area, but the only true Griswold 14s I've seen are on eBay.

Welp, It's not a Griswold but this old #14 Wagner Ware will do just fine!

Thanks, CB. I got most of the rust knocked off tonight and will try to drop it in a lye bath tomorrow.
Lucky find actually....I was calling around to antique shops in the Des Moines IA area (I've been on an iron binge the last two weeks)....talked to a shop owner who knew a guy. Super nice guy...paid $90 for it. They're going for big money online but 2 lbs of sizzling bacon at deer camp this year sounds even better. :-) she's a keeper

Finished it late last night....cooking in this hoss is a two burner job!

Yah know CB, I've been meaning to put it on the scale. I think the good folks at Wagner may have dual purposed these as skillets/boat anchors. It weighs a ton
