As I stated in my introduction - I’m starting to collect CI - my first being a Wagner Ware #3 skillet & 10” chicken fryer!!! Both are so light & so smooth!!! Amazing what vintage CI compared to todays CI is - definitely a HUGE fan of vintage CI!!!

Have a question - What would you say the quality & value of the Griswold #2 pics below would be? Just starting to learn the values & understanding CI collecting!! Thanks for any input!!

slant epu #2... that's not one that a 'new collector' usually encounters. value is probably $500 - 700 or so... its hard to say since very few of these change hands.

Ya, it’s mine - felt pretty lucky!! When I reference a new comer, it’s been about 6 months, 12 CI & 8 WI later(addictive!!). I’ve been reading & watching a lot on restoration through Lye bath, Electrolysis & seasoningi!! What is your recommended way of restoration, for use & to display them for all to see!!!!
Now back to the Griswold #2 - I learned about Griswold #2 skillets and being rare & come by one. Now I wished I could tell you it was a $25 dollar find, cause it wasn’t & after seeing D_Madden’s valuation I’m glad I didn’t spend a $1000 on it, I would say D_Madden’s valuation makes me feel I got a good deal on it though!!! The prices on Etsy & Ebay are kind of all over the place & there are different ones such as with or w/o heat ring, slanted or not & EPU or not. Just wondered some of your thoughts on how it looks & value. I appreciate your replies & look forward to learning from everyone on the forum!!!
