Doug, do you know if the small logo Griswold with the early handle was ever made in a #4?
I'm having trouble finding one for my collection and figured you would be the one to ask.

Since the late and late grooved handle versions exist, I would assume early handle versions do as well. I would see no reason the discontinue the size only to bring it back in under a decade. My guess as to why the scarcity would be lower wartime production in general, and a less popular size to begin with.
What's in the BB and RB is largely what the authors and Steve Stephens had personally seen, not necessarily definitive. A company catalog from that period would be helpful, but the latest I've seen is from 1932.
