Picked up this griswold tite top DO tonight, LBL EPU #6 pn 2605, and lid with on 2606. I knew the 6's are harder to find, but after looking it up in the BB I'm pretty excited but I have a question. My lid is fully marked on the underside, but no raised letters on the top of the lid like the picture in the book. Does that mean it was made later in production? It seems to have the enamel on the inside like the clean easy lids. The whole thing is is wonderful shape, no cracks, stone dead flat, and smooth! Guy I bought it from said it came off his family 3 generation 150yr old farm when his mother passed away. I also had to buy a number 8 Dutch oven with trivet with it which I will post in another thread. So I gave $125 for both Dutch ovens, he was asking 135. How did I do? Is the BB price still accurate? And does the lid without raised lettering affect the value?

I believe with either skillet lids or dutch oven lids even the oval roaster lids. they could be plain or marked with the raised letters and still be correct. (skillet lids have the additional options of button logo in addition to plain and raised letters...)

I've seen a couple of #6 DO show up on ebay... and yeah, they command pretty good prices... easily worth what you paid for both.
