Griswold #6 Vienna roll pan

Hi, any ideas on the value of this Griswold #6 Vienna roll pan, Part number 958? This variation doesn't say Griswold or Erie, just #6 and 958. I think it was made in the 1880's or 1890's. I want to post this on E-Bay, so any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Looking at your photos, you have variation #3 Rarity 4. Value in the yellow book is $100.00 — $125.00

Now if had the same pan with a gate mark on roll #3 from the left end in your photo, you would have variation #1 Rarity 5. Value in the yellow book is $200.00 — $250.00

I am not seeing any gate mark.

Not sure what they are selling for, but if you check eBay sold auctions.

Also there are 6 variations.

Jeffry...Does this mean the values as posted in the BB P.122 are to be disregarded? Show there are 3 versions and the raised letters inside the cups being the highest value. Just curious....that's all.

The BB does not show all the variations, that is why I have the YB. Also the BB does not have his pan listed. In all the books, the price is a guide line, as you will see some pieces sell for a lot more on eBay today.

Just a note. There are 6 Variations of #6 Vienna Roll Pan p/n 958. Variation 6 has a listed value of $250. to $300.

No arguments about the variations or the yellow book listings but his picture appears to be the exact pan as displayed in the BB (top left corner P 122) which says circa. 1880-1890 w/ a value of $150 (based on excellent condition)
Yes...e-Bay sellers drive these prices even higher than both books list them which makes us as collectors frown every time we see those listings.
My experience since becoming a member of C.I.C. was to obtain the BB & the RB for basic reference guides and expand to other specialty books to broaden our knowledge. I see more and more new (junior) members posting one single thread asking similar questions (when was my piece made and how much is it worth). I don't mind answering those post but it would be nice if they were to take the same interest as you and I and truly participate in this wonderful site that has taught me so much about all the aspects of cast iron collecting.
WOW...I said a mouth full that sounds angry but I'm truly not and nothing is pointed directly at anyone. Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings...

Need to clean my glasses. You are right, a closer look, I do see the open frame between the cups in the BB. At first glance I did not see light through the cut-outs, I only see it in the bottom cut-out now. I most always use the YB for muffin pans, as the BB only shows 4 and there are 6 variations.

As to the difference to the value, the YB copyright 1997, and my BB is 2010 copyright

But eBay will give what is current and how hot $$$.

All else you stated.:icon_thumbsup:
