Griswold Colonial Smoking Set

Doing some internet window-shopping I came across a set of two small kettles, one bailed (marked 773) and one handled (marked 772), just under 3" diameter each. Described as a '50s-era Griswold Colonial Smoking Set size 00.

I have no intention of getting them but I'm curious, what was a "smoking set" like this used for? Just as ashtrays?

Yes, ashtrays. There is also a "windproof" kettle ashtray, in addition to the #00/570 skillet and others. BB or RB shows several smoking accessories. Some had rubber foot tips, not sure if the two you saw did.
