Griswold corn bread pan - markings?

Hi all, am appealing here to the cognoscenti of Griswold marks. I have a Griswold corn bread pan with the place name "ERIE PENN., U.S.A." I have searched wherever I could think to, but have found no reference to the state name being abbreviated "PENN." rather than "PA." If this is a fake, somebody went to a LOT of trouble to reproduce the pan, because it is very good CI. It has 954E as pattern mark. Has anybody else seen this abbreviation for Pennsylvania? Thanks in advance for any info.

Thanks for the response, DougD. Mine lacks the No 22; the pattern no. is at the top of the pan; otherwise, the markings are identical. Any guesses as to the manufacture date of these markings? By the way, as soon as I figure out a way to properly store it, this pan will be one of my "keepers".

Hard to say. The #22/954 pan has 15 known variations.
