Griswold DO cobbled

I snagged this on CL this morning. It is a Griswold #8 DO, and the trivet says 9. The glass lid is obviously not orig. The oven is in the lye bath. The trivet looks unused and clean. I only paid what I did because it had the trivet. Maybe I'm crazy, but I thought the trivet was worth more than the DO. Was sorry to see that it wasn't the same # as the oven. Now I have to find the rest of the pieces to make two sets.

Do you see any numbers on your glass lid? I am always looking for lids to fit DO's. I like the glass lids. You may have to look closely under the lip of the lid, if you find one please share the numbers.

I used to have a 12 DO that I found a lid for at a thrift store. It looks similar to the lid you have, the pattern is the same. I can't recall if it had numbers on it.

In my research of glass lids, round top knobs with that wavy pattern are reproductions. Replacement lids for broken originals or came with unmarked versions of Wagner. Griswold lids had hex or octagonal top knobs.

Bad news Bonnie. The lid says "Mexico 17"
What numbers are you looking for? I come across glass lids here and there.
