Has anyone seen the electric Griswold Waffler listed on e-Bay? Did my daily search and saw it...

Not trying to promote its sale but found something interesting when looking at the close-ups. Did not know that you were suppose to paint the insides of the waffle with cold water once baking temperature was reached instead of using a cooking type grease. That was what was on the instruction plate attached to its side.

I'm guessing that since it is aluminum instead of cast iron that there would be no damage "cracking" when cold water was applied? That being said...Would it be acceptable to do our aluminum based cookers/ waffler's (non electric) in a similar fashion?

By the way...If anyone wants to shell out the $4000 for it and give to me as a present feel free to do so

Aluminum will shatter by too quick of cooling. As will other metals. steam is what I guess they wanted to introduce to the waffle.
