Griswold Hammered #3 skillet

Curious what you guys think 1/2 of a Griswold Hammered #3 skillet is worth (just the skillet, lid NOT included).

I'm a little frustrated right now - I have been watching an eBay auction for 10 days, this auction stated 'no shipping to Canada'. I messaged the seller 9 days ago to ask if he would reconsider no shipping, and if so, what would be the price to Canada. He said it was fine, gave me a shipping price and said to go ahead and bid. The auction ended today, so before it did and with 10 seconds to spare, I bid the maximum I wanted to spend. Unfortunately I received an error message stating I couldn't bid because the seller didn't allow shipping to Canada. He forgot to update his listing and I didn't leave myself enough time to follow up. I saw the no shipping stipulation all along, even after I contacted him, just didn't realize it would prevent me from bidding.

Anyway, I'm not upset with him, sh#$ happens, I'm just a little bummed about not getting it. The final price was $39.00 - I was going to bid well past that.

The Gris. #2013 is a hinged skillet so what you were bidding on was just half of unit. Couldn't tell much from the listing if it was the upper half or the lower half. Probably should be glad you missed out on it. Having only half of a set can be tiring to try and get the other half.
Hang in there and get what you want on the next bid.

I'm aware I was bidding on just half of the unit - as per my initial post, it was just the skillet, lid was not included. The lid I'm referring to is a typical dome lid, not a double skillet type lid (the #3 hammered doesn't come like that).

From what I gather, a complete hammered #3 goes for over $1000. I knew I would probably be waiting a long time for the lid, but the over all cost would have been far less if I managed to get the two separately.

Regardless, I'm sure what I was bidding on was worth far more than $39.00, I'm just curious to get an opinion from those who are more in touch with prices, what 1/2 of the skillet is worth.

You're correct....Should have referenced page 32 of the BB which has some of the hinged skillets "hammered" but does not show the 2013. The pattern number listed in the index was what I was looking at which says hinged skillet and not hinged double skillet. It's late...I'm tired....& probably should be in bed.
Not sure where you're getting your data regarding the $1000.....Guess if you want to pay that much for one then go for it. eBay sellers ask ridiculous prices for items they tag as "rare" & HTF and most times a little searching you can find the same thing much, much, much, cheaper. Either way, good luck.
