Griswold No. 16 Gem Pan

Sitting down? Variation 1 of 5. Rarity 10. The only var. with the wide center band. YB value $2500-3000. But probably not realistic today. BB 5th ed. says $1500. No recent eBay sales to check.

Oh my goodness Doug! I've had this for over 2 years. I looked it up when I found it and saw that it was a rare variation but didn't have a clue to the value, you definitely floored me! The thrift store was using EBay to price stuff. They had a print out of a completed EBay sale that showed someone had paid $75.00 for a set of Wagner Ware 1890 cast iron skillets. So they bundled this Griswold #16 gem pan along with a #9 ERIE skillet and another unmarked #6 Wagner for $45.00. I purchased them and talked them into throwing in an "Old Hickory" meat cleaver to boot! Please see the attached Erie skillet photos and give me an estimate of it's value if you don't mind. I was excited that day but you definitely stirred it back up! I haven't cleaned them for several reasons. I knew they had value and I wasn't going to use them. I was inexperienced and didn't want to risk ruining them, I was very busy at work and decided these will be my retirement hobby. https://imgur.com/gallery/zwzhS

There is one on ebay now with a $750 starting bid or $975 Buy it Now. This shows just how unrealistic most of the Yellow Book (and even some of the Blue Book) prices are in todays market compared to when the book was printed.
