Griswold No. 6 Large Logo Skillet Handle

I recently added a Griswold large logo no. 6 skillet to my collection and noticed that the bottom of the handle is different from all of my other Griswold skillets of all logo varieties - large, small, Erie, etc. It has a raised rib in the middle. I've added a photo that shows it between large logo nos. 5 and 7. Can anyone explain this difference? Thanks!

Pattern variation. When new markings were instituted, old patterns were altered and updated. New patterns may have been added later to keep up with demand, and may not have been made by the same pattern maker. Get enough Griswold skillets together in a room at the same time, and you'll see many differences in handles, marking size and placement, etc. on the same sizes that otherwise go unnoticed when seen apart. I have that same handle on my #6 LBL, also unlike the rest in my set.
