Griswold reproduction rabbit

Fell victim to a reproduction. Paid $85 and can return easily enough. What is a reasonable price for a copy. I see now the prices on ebay are a lot more than I paid.

I paid $127 for a very good to excellent original on eBay. Probably I paid more than what other here would pay. But I would never find one of these in the wild in such good condition where I live.

Here is a photo of the front and the back.

Cake molds. Griswold also made Santa and lamb molds. Santa is also seen reproduced. Lodge also made a lamb mold.

Helped my grandmother about 60 years ago. She told me to be very careful so not to break the lamb....

That memory is why I bought the baba - to create such memories with my great-grandsons.

Has anybody ever tried to make licorice icing? Baba Black sheep.

Here's a link with a lamb mold cake recipe that could probably also be used for the rabbit mold, http://www.ourmidland.com/lifestyle...-cake-Midland-s-quest-for-perfect-6962556.php. I haven't used it yet but am planning to use it next Easter. Has any one here tried baking a cake in the rabbit or lamb molds?

my wife bakes in them on the holidays she sometimes puts antlers on the lamb.to make it look like a deer.works for me. Santa is always a big hit at Christmas!:)

Todd, that is a beautiful cake mold, and I don't think you paid too much for it. The originals are hard to find, and the condition on yours is very nice. If I had the money to spend, I'd have jumped on that too. Happy baking!
