hammered #3

I bought this little guy a few weeks back. It was so encrusted that the guy selling it didn't know it was hammered. It cleaned up very nicely. I believe it is CHF or Favorite but please correct me if I'm wrong. It was the first hammered #3 I've ever found.

I was trying to get some pictures that would show the hammered finish. Thats why some of these are pre-seasoning

Happy hunting,

Don't believe it is CHF or Favorite. I believe it is a "hammered ugly" and no one seems to know who made them.

I agree with the "hammered ugly" sentiment. I found a nice #3 a few months back that has got 99% of its Nickle finish in tact.

I don't recall ever seeing an example of the "hammered ugly unknown" plated before. Photo?

Think the reference (hammered ugly) came from a post originated by ChristianF dated 9/8/2015. I have a #3 & #8 with the same "large" hammered dimples which neither have any I.D.'s.

Well darn. I really like that little pan, very smooth cooking surface. I'm going to feel bad referring to it as "hammered ugly".

Jack :)

I have had a #3, #5, #8 Hammered ugly skillets. The #3 was the same as yours JMoss, but my #5 & #8 were heavier all around, and wider handles. Made me think that they were from different foundries.

Here is a Hammered CHF and plated.

I do not have a photo of the #3,5,8, set to post. Will look.

Plated may be the wrong word. I actually doesn't look "plated" but it isn't bare iron either. Thoughts?
