Picked this up today for 7 bucks. What's the holy trivet inside for? It's removable, and I suppose it's to keep meat out of the grease. Maybe I'm way off. Can't see a brand mark on the bottom, only a big number 8. Any ideas?
Thank you for the info. This is only my second DO. I have several old pans and one huge cauldron with a crack. Not much of a collector (yet) but I do keep an eye out. I do a lot of grilling, and DO's and vintage Weber kettles go together nicely.
I am by "no means" an expert in CI but the handle of the lid says Griswold to me. Is this something Lodge copied from Griswold? The insides with the dimples and size appear to be that of Lodge from what I can find but the handle sure looks like it goes to Griswold. Somebody educate me....
