Help identify small hammered skillet

I have a smooth bottom cast iron skillet with a hammered exterior finish. 8_3 G is stamped on the bottom, by the handle. Does anybody know the manufacturer?

Those were made by Chicago Hardware Foundry. They all appear to have the numeral 8 or 9, then the size number followed by a pattern letter.

Thanks! Any idea how old it is? I believe the smooth bottom skillets are of later vintage

Not for certain on those, but the 1930s was a popular period for hammered.

I used to have an 87C marked hammered skillet, wish I hadn't sold it.
