Greetings! New guy here. I'm helping dad clean out the house some after mom's passing. While i know dad and mom were quite the pack rats, I was pleasantly surprised to find a good sized collection of cast iron that he says go back about 5 generations, and he knows the history of most pieces. So far I have cleaned enough to find a Wagner piece and a Martin 3 Monday morning.
I still have about 20 frying pans and multiple kettles, pots and Dutch ovens, many of which will take a long lye soak to find any markings, to go. I started with the easiest to clean pieces.
This site rocks! It has been greatly helpful in learning about reconditioning and identification. I'm sure that I will have lots more questions and pictures as cleaning progresses.
This is a square skillet 9 3/4" top measurement 8" bottom. No identifying marks or numbers at all. It appeared to have hardly been used, no seasoning, just a coat of surface rust that came off easily. The interior surface is pretty rough so I guess it's fairly new.
Can anyone tell me anything about it? Thanks in advance!
