Help Identifying Cast Iron Mark

Please Help me Identify this antique cast iron pot. I have been able to date it to the late 1800's, by the gate mark on bottom and thickness of the cast which is 1/8" thick with a 1/4" lip edge. The markings upper case "S" and Upper case "W" W has what I can only identify as a lazy leg. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, James Howe

These old bottom gated pieces will never be identifiable as to maker unless marked or they have characteristics in some way unique to a known maker. I wouldn't read anything more into the W than an unfortunate slip when making its impression or removing the pattern from the sand mold. That the legs have been sawed off is unfortunate, but is not an uncommon occurrence.

I call them "pig ear" dutch ovens. If you can provide a side shot of the "ears" I may be able to help "guessestimate" a date. Recasting using a donor example could be the reason for the sloppy letters and numbers.
