Help With Electrolysis. Handles Look Like Copper?

Hello. Had a good last year cleaning my cast iron. This year? Same set up as last but for some reason my handles where I attach the negative come out looking like copper. I've only cleaned 2 pieces. 1 with a copper clamp and the other with a steel clamp. Same results on both. All info as always is greatly appreciated. Thanks

What are your positive and negative wire / clamps attached to?

Hello and thanks. The negative is to the pan and the positive to the sacrificial metal

I would do away the copper clamps. Copper being the softer metal.

This is what is working for me.The black wire is attached to the bolt and is my negative feed. Next I take steel wire and twist it through the handle of the skillet, drop it in for a swim and wrap the other end of the wire around the bolt.
