help with identification

Hi everyone, I was wondering if you could help me identify a cast iron pot that I found at the dump near my house, I don't have the lod and the only identification on it is the date March 25 1879 on the handle. By the way, this is also my first post here.

The patent refers to the handle design, but unfortunately does not indicate the maker.
