Hey all,

I am doing a little research for a friend who recently found this setup (See pics) on Craigslist. He wants to buy them but does not really know what he is looking at and the seller isn't really sure either. So if anyone here can help out and maybe help identify these it would be appreciated.

The only makings on the thing is something that the seller claims is "Morse," However, maybe it could be "MorsØ." The "O" with the line through it at the end. Any assistance would be helpful, thank you!

Sam

My question is about the heat source. Is it designed to go over a gas burner? The center part below the pan on top, does that sit over a burner? Is it hollow, or like a chimney for the heat to come up to the skillet? If so, the heat would slowly heat up the plates on the perimeter for tortillas, as others have suggested. I'm thinking that the idea of the fajita cooker is in line. Just my observations and opinions.

It brings to mind an Asian "community cooker". Each person has their own "griddle" to do what they want and the central "skillet" holds all the ingredients. The wells on the "griddles" hold oil or seasonings or possibly just finished tidbits.

My guess is that it was used over charcoal, like they would a wok.
