Help with Pot ID

[New Member, hello to all.

A friend gave me a couple of Cast iron pieces this week that he said his Mom & Dad had sitting on there porch for 30 years. The first one is a Dachshund boot scrapper that is 21" long and solid cast iron, seems to be lots of these around but there is no makers mark so not sure who made the item or exactly how old it is.

But the reason I joined this forum is because of this small cast iron pot. It has a makers mark? Double diamond with a P in the center that I haven't been able to identify after searching forums and cast iron collecting forums. The pot is approximately 5" wide not counting the handles and 6" tall. It is missing the lid and handle and I am sure it is not worth much but curious as to who/when it was made. It also has a hole in the bottom that I am sure his father drilled in it to keep water from collecting in the pot.

Any help is appreciated and I thank you in advance.

Jeff,

thank you,

So it was a firestarter pot ,very interesting.

Do we know what the Diamond marking with the P means?
