Help with Wapak waffle iron & base

I recently bought this Wapak waffle iron and base. After receiving it. it's pretty clear to me that this base does not match the paddles ( :mad: ). The paddles don't fit in the upper area of the base (see the 2nd and 3rd pics in the album).

I can't identify the base, though. Is it actually a Wapak base? If not, what brand does this base come from? Its shapes are very similar to Favorite Piqua, but it doesn't have "FAV" on it (or any markings anywhere). Can anyone shed some light on this?

I collect Wapaks, but not waffles irons (yet, lol)....that base sure doesnt look like a Wapak to me. Im not well versed on WIs tho, so someone else may be able to tell you what kind it is.....sorry to hear about the rip off. Ive gotten hosed in the past too, so I feel for ya man.
 
I think I've found an answer to my mystery WI base. Remember how I said that the base looks like a Favorite Piqua (especially in picture 8), but doesn't have "FAV" written on it?

I think it's a Puritan base, made by Favorite for Sears. Does that sound feasible (or likely)? Were Favorite-made Puritan Waffle Irons available in a high base?
