Cool find. I noticed at first glance that the handle is shaped like BSR. Did BSR make Hemenway's Brand? That heat ring is extra heavy too. Good condition, did you nab it? I've only seen pictures of these so I'll assume that they aren't common.
I just found one of these today too, check it out here http://www.castironcollector.com/forum/showthread.php?p=17740#post17740 Mine is marked "3." instead of just "3" so they are probably from different production runs. Perhaps they were used for table service at Hemenway's Restaurant in Providence, RI?
Interesting, if this skillet is from Hemenway's Restaurant, it had a long journey down to Louisiana. I did buy it, was in pretty bad shape. Cleaned up well though. Thank you for the info.
