Hinged pot information

Does anyone have any information on this neat hinged pot? The pin was rusted out completely. I cleaned out the rust and temporarily put a screw in there to hold it together for a picture. There are no markings, numbers or letters anywhere.

I wondered if the 'pot' was the 'lid'?

Scott you and Hilditch may be onto something. If you set it on a table with what appears to be the lid on top you have to push down on the tab at the hinge to make the lid raise up enough to grab it. But if you turn it over with what appears to be the pot on top you just raise it up with the tab on the pot. So even though a soft taco is too large, regular Tortillas or biscuits could have been warmed up in this thing. It may have set in a wood stove eye. Old school toaster oven ha!
