Hinged, Removable Dutch Oven Bail

Page 94 of John Tyler's Cast Iron Holloware shows a hinged, removable bail for a dutch oven. It has hooks on both ends, as well as a loose "hinged" connection at the top, with the purpose of being removable, and doubling as a lid lifter.

Has anyone ever actually seen one of these, outside of the book?

I have seen one used by an older lady to fry chicken. She is 94 and mentioned getting it used when she was married. Next time I see her I will snap,a picture.

There's one here and another one here I see them occasionally at antique stores.

Aha! Seems the name "pot tongs" is the key to finding the pictures. That term hadn't occurred to me... thanks.

I wonder how many of those get sold/bought as "vintage calipers"!
