History of ring molds

I'm working on a story about manufactured ring molds, and while I can find plenty about bundt pans, I'm having trouble determining when the first ring molds were mass-produced. I know the bakeware became far more prevalent after the advent of cheap aluminum, but can you help me chase the mold's history back to the beginning? Thanks so much.

Of the two published guides typically owned by cast iron collectors, only one shows a couple of Wagner ring "jelly" moulds in aluminum, and dates both 1915-1920.

What is interesting, however is that one has Wagner's "stylized" logo and a catalog number, while the other has only block lettering and no c/n. It is believed, though, that the use of the stylized logo dates to ca. 1922 and the use/imprinting of c/ns on products by Wagner first started in 1924. The catalog number reference in the book lists 5 round moulds of diameters from 4-3/4" to 9-1/4" and one 9-1/4" square.

All six appear in the 1924 and 1927 Wagner aluminum catalogs, the square c/n actually shown as 7" x 3-3/4" rectangular. List prices ranged from $1.67 to $3.50. All are absent from the 1936 catalog.

Hi and welcome, the history of the ring mold goes way back. Prior to the iron and aluminum pans they were made of stoneware. I am not quite sure if you are interested in the history of the ring cake or just the modern metal pans? If you have studied the info on the Bundt pan then I am sure you know of it's origins in Germany. I hope you will share your article after it's finished.

The only other piece of literature I can refer to that shows one is assumed to be 1921, based on verbiage in it saying it had been 30 years since Wagner's founding, which was 1891.
