Just started soaking in oven cleaner and holy hell!!!!! All the crud just started pouring right off. They are now sitting in bags. Just have the base left to do.

So......I walk out to the garage and there is a black puddle on a cardboard box, where I was soaking my pieces. so I grab a set of gloves and go and wash it off to apply another coat, had to sneak a peak [emoji6]

How long do you think I should let that piece soak with the lye on it?? I'm getting anxious [emoji51]

Until all the old crust is free. Let the lye do the work, as it will not hury the iron.
