Posted this elsewhere and I got a few opinions... unmarked Erie, or Favorite. It is a 9 but there is a dot right by the 9, reinforced handle pad, reinforced edge, fairly messy casting has been revealed after stripping it but no holes just bumpy. I would like to get a more accurate ID if possible.
victor was Griswold's 'store brand'... so it was made by Griswold in the same time frame as the 'Erie' pans and early marked 'griswold' pans.
as far as I know a griswold made 'victor' pan would have the victor marked or at least the pattern number... I don't think there were any completely unmarked victors... so a recast is a possibility... but if it was a recast it appears to have been side gated as there is not gate or sprue on the bottom... and that indicates a more sophisticated process than the usual recastings.
Griswold's Victor, like Wagner's National and others, was an "economy" brand, which offered a very limited range of pieces and with skillets sized smaller and shallower than their regular skillets. "Store" brands would include those like Puritan, Good Health, Long Life.
