Identification help with gem pan

I found this guy at a thrift shop. I'm guessing 1800s, but not sure of the brand. The only mark is this 6 or i suppose a 9 if flipped the other way.

It's a #9 and follows the numbering convention largely attributed to N. Waterman. The handle shape looks like that of several variations of the Griswold No. 9/947 12-cup version "golf ball" pan, the earliest of which lacks the 947 pattern number (according to the "yellow book" on Griswold gem & muffin pans). Griswold pieces without pattern numbers are from the late 1800s.
 
In referring to Waterman I meant that the numbers he used for his different shapes were seen adhered to by other makers as well.
