Can someone tell me anything about this?

Only that it's ca. late 1800s. The style tells us that, but without any identifying marks, that's about it. The letter is a molder's mark, probably that of the guy who did the casting.

Gate marked pieces, with no manufacturer's name, are usually impossible to identify.
