Info. for a Gris. No.2 square waffle-iron

Hello, all:
Am digging through the "debris" of my collection, left too long in unfortunate circumstances-c'est dommage! Have turned up a Griswold Mfg. Co., Erie PA. No. 2 waffle iron with matching high base. I think the hinges are "scissor" type; the 3 griddles are rectangular: hearts, diamonds and squares--the patterns are not mirror images, so you'd get different designs on the opposite sides of cakes. The iron has a loop grip on each edge; it would be hard to use, I'd think, but is nice to look at! Does anybody recognize my description? Is this baby a really old one? Any comments welcome!

Yes, it's quite old. No BB currently at hand to say exactly. They don't come up on eBay very often, typically damaged ones if they do. Quite valuable if complete and undamaged.

BB dating is 1895-1930. BB value is $750-800 if in excellent condition. The hinges would not be "scissor" which technically refers to a type of hinge on irons made to be rotated on the hinge itself as opposed to on the positioning pins on the #2.

Bonnie. Thanks! That's my guy, and as it's in a vinegar bath right now, I can't check the waffle pattern, but it is definitely the same "model"! I neglected to mention the 905 pattern (?) mark, but it's there on mine. This is SO exciting, as I haven't had any knowledgeable people to discuss CI with in too many years! Will push hubby to try adding pictures! Thanks again for all your help. Sharon

Hi, Bonnie, and all. The waffle iron cleaned up well, and my hubby finally had luck with the camera, computer, etc. Now to get pictures here... Soon, I hope! Thanks for the interest and help in identifying "good stuff".
