Interesting iron shovel - ID?

I saw an iron shovel today and was wondering if it was maybe part of a wood burning stove set? It has a logo (CH?) and a number (1326?) on the inside of the shovel blade. (And why would you put them there, where they can be worn off?)

Anyway, I thought it was an interesting piece. I might go back and get it tomorrow.

After some EBay searching, I've found a couple that are similar. The number on those is 1626. Could be the same. It's hard to read the number on the one I saw. Also, the ones I found on eBay say Chicago on them.

I wonder if it was used to shovel ashes out of a stove or fireplace. My grandparents in Oklahoma had a coal burning potbelly stove for heat when I was a kid, and my granddaddy used a similar shovel to remove ashes. Just a thought...

Donna, that's what I think it is. Maybe called a coal shovel? I was just wondering if anybody was familiar with this being one of the accessories sold with a stove, like some of the holloware was.

I was also wondering if the "CH" stood for Chicago Howe, maybe? I found a couple of similar ones on eBay that say Chicago, but boring with this particular logo. It's a neat piece, though. The seller did a great job of restoring it.
