Hi everyone! Not much of a collector (trying to stop hoarding stuff), so I'm trying to limit myself to a couple of pans, a waffle iron, and maybe something for cornbread. And maybe a dutch oven. (I have a problem.)

I have a vintage Wagner my cousin gave me for free from one of her estate sales (same model as in this blog post) and some newer Lodges I picked up as a set just because I needed a larger pan. Can't get any of them to take a seasoning real well.

Randomly stumbled upon a vintage/antique sale yesterday and five or so pieces of cast iron. Mostly unidentified, it included what I assume is something for eggs (poached) and a corn bread pan. I ended up getting a lid from the Blankenship combo cooker and a piece that is completely unmarked and had some traits I hadn't seen before (not that I'm experienced in this kind of thing). The lady that had the cast iron got it from a storage unit that was part of an estate and has several boxes more, so I'm going to meet up with her in a couple of weeks and see if I can snag anything else good...like the rest of the Blankenship combo cooker.

I'd appreciate help with this unmarked piece. I'll describe it just to throw some keywords out there for future searchers. It's about eight inches and fairly shallow. The pour spouts (or whatever they're called) are triangular shaped. Inside is smooth and no heat ring. It has a lip with two perpendicular ridges, one at the handle and one opposite. I noticed that the pour spouts have little indentations on one side. I initially only saw one and assumed it was a defect, then noticed that the other spout had one that was almost identical. Literally *no* markings I can see. Could it be a lid?

It's a lid/skillet for what's known as a "combo cooker". There were multiple designs and makers of them, so if you intend to complete a set with it, you'll want to become familiar with the various ones.

Thanks! After reading about the Blankenship combo cooker, I suspected it might be. It'll be interesting going through the rest of the stuff she has. She wasn't particularly familiar with cast iron, so maybe she'll give me a good deal on something I really want if I match some of these pieces up for her.
