Is it real?

Received a Christmas gift of an eBay purchase. Allegedly, a 6 series Griswold Erie 1905-1907. Has no quote marks around Erie. Has 710G stamped below middle with the 1 and 0 slanted and the 9 to the left of center above the handle. Appears virtually brand new. Is this real?

Many of those new to CI collecting, having learned that there are fakes around, infer that every piece should be suspected of being a counterfeit. Typically, the quality of the fakes is obviously poor enough to make them immediately identifiable as one. If you have a photo, it would be the fastest and easiest way to confirm or dismiss your concern. I don't ever recall seeing an Erie fake, however, that didn't have a bottom gate mark or some really subpar casting. And those seen with such defects usually weren't produced to be counterfeits as much as they were just someone trying to make some skillets and using another skillet as the actual working pattern.

I've tried to attach a picture. Let me know if it didn't send.

It looks that way because of the way it was cleaned and restored. It looks real to me and some ERIE pieces didn't have "Quotes".
