Is My Brother' Skillet Real or a Reproduction?

My brother has a smooth bottom, small logo, No.9 Griswold. It has no p/n. The closest thing I can find in The Story of Griswold and Wagner is on pg.13. However, it has a fire ring and a pattern number.

My brother is not a collector and probably won't care if it is a reproduction. However, I'm interested in learning how to discern the real from the reproduction.

Here is the link to some pics he sent me.

P.S. This is my first time trying to do this, so hope I got it right.

The (with heat ring) at the bottom of that SBL skillet list refers only to the #12. The pan in the accompanying photo has no heat ring.

I agree with Doug--the most often reproduced were small pieces and toys. I think this poor Gris. just got used really hard. Clean it up and start cooking--unless there are hidden cracks or warpage, those are very good utensils.
