Is there a 'blue book' for cast iron?

If you don't want to buy them right now, you can suggest a purchase to your local library. Just write down the title, author's name, and ISBN. They'll have you fill out a form. Some libraries have a website form. If it's purchased the library will notify you, and you can place a hold. I do it all the time. You can probably get them through an ILL if they don't purchase them. You'll have to fill out an Inter Library Loan request form, but sometimes you have to pay the shipping.

I have the "blue book". Can somebody tell me what I can expect from the RB that is different from what I have? Why should I have both?

Although both focus mainly on Wagner and Griswold, the order of names in the different titles indicates which one gets the more comprehensive treatment. The smaller sections on other makers in each are different as well. Typical advice is if you're only buying one, get the more recently-revised blue first, but both are worth having. There is some overlap to the Wagner and Griswold info in each, but there is also significant different content for each.

Thanks, Doug. I do have the BB but at $29, I see a nice #5 Griswold in my collection. My county library system doesn't have any cast iron collection books in their collection... maybe I need to try to convince them that they need some. :tasty:
