Is This a #16 Martin Dutch Oven?

I would be very grateful if anybody could give me your input on this. I was in a flea market recently and picked up this Dutch oven. From all appearances it looks like a #16 Martin. Am I correct?

I'm sorry Doug, this is my first day on the site and I am unfamiliar with it . What is "RB"? Thank you for your patience

That was very helpful. Thank you very much

Do you have any idea where I could find the value of this particular piece?

The RB and BB give values based on excellent condition and prevailing at the time of publication. The RB has not been revised in over a decade, but values the Martin #16 CO at $250.

You are correct, that is a rare find. The bail as been replaced. I have several Lodge 16 dutch ovens, new in the box, as trade material. If you got it at the RB price, you got a good deal. Matching sets are very rare. That one is still on my "must have" list. :icon_thumbsup:

Do not have a heart attack but I paid $65 for it.

I think the scrap value for a piece of iron that big would be more than $65. That is a very good buy!

I've seen a Lodge 14 camp oven (with a big crack down the side and missing the lid) and the seller still wanted $80 for it. These big camp ovens are hard to find.

I have searched and searched and cannot find ONE complete set ANYWHERE online. I have found only two lids and they were on eBay. One for $425 and the other for $475. That just blows my mind.

I call that a legal steal and a super deal. Holy Grail to us spider skillet and pig eared dutch oven collectors here in TN/AL.
