Is this a Lodge tea pot?

Taking the back roads from Cedartown to Cave Spring and I saw a small antique place. The owner said he is selling off everything and closing down. Just my luck ... he only takes cash and I only had $10 on me. He said I could pick out anything and he would let me have it for ten bucks.

I picked this tea pot. I think it is a Lodge. Don't they have a star on the lid? But it also has a gate mark. Is that the way they did it?

I'm not you can see it in this light, but the inside is pretty nasty.

He had some other stuff I would have liked, including what might be the center section for the John C Johnson. I went with the teapot because I've been wanting one, but they are always priced higher than I want to pay.

Here's what the RB says about Lodge teapots ...

Mine looks like the one on the right, but has a pitted bottom like the one on the left. If this is a Lodge, I don't think it is from the time period these two are from. Mainly because the pour spout on mine is different and the lid has a little assist tab on it (not pictured in the drawings above.) I'm going to clean it up with soap and water first. I think it might be painted (the one with the pitted bottom in the RB is also listed as being painted.)

Your tea pot bears a lot similar attributes of a tea pot made by Chattanooga Stove Company. I have one with the 8 inside a star that was made in Chattanooga. Your spout and lid are slightly different from mine. Yours possibly an earlier model than mine. I do not think it is a Lodge or the earlier company, Blacklock. The Blacklock kettle would have the name on the lid. I am leaning toward it being a Chattanooga Stove tea pot.
