Is This a Matching Set or a Marriage?

I have one, mine doesn't have "IN" only the number 10, I'm sure one you have is matching set, that's an oven lid,not skillet lid,it is too little compared with a regular # 10 and I don't think there are too many of those ovens to swap lids,a regular oven is #10,and yours is 10 inches

Isn't that oven too old for the IN to be for "inches"? What does it mean? I've been trying to learn skillets and haven't spent any time researching ovens.

Nice piece. I don't think my wife will let me build a fire in the back yard to use it (LOL).

Thanks.

The funny thing it the lid I about 10.5 inches, by the cooking surface of the flipped side is about 10 in. I am pretty sure is is a match and I am pretty sure it is a lodge. The raised letters on the lid and the oven make me think it is pretty early, maybe 20’s? Any more information would be appreciated.

I don't think so. Raised letters came first, then the engraved letters, the the use of CO, the the addition of made in usa. That has been my experience with these ovens.

Just for clarification I know that the letters were not engraved just didn't know what to call them. Etched may have been a better word. They were cast in.

Kyle, I picked up one of these two years ago identical to yours. I would say without much doubt it is a matched set.
