Is This a Sprue Mark?

I know it is hard to see. It’s is under the number 7. Is it a sprue mark? Trying to date this pot.

Looks more like one end of the lid handle. Loop handles on lids are tricky. How do you remove the pattern from the mold without wrecking the hollowed out portion of the loop handle? Methinks on that piece they cast the loop handle ahead of time, then stuck it in the mold prior to putting in the pattern, and then left it in the mold after removing the pattern.

I say no. Sprue marks are half dollar to a quarter size rounded and up to a quarter inch tall. Smaller on the very early castings. Most have a broken off looking finish.
