J. Gibson's Bean Pot/Cauldron

Have had for many years. It measures approximately 8-1/4" tall, and 10-1/4" across the top. There is a handle for lifting as well as a side handle for pouring. Very difficult to make out raised lettering on bottom, but definitely says "J. Gibson's. PATD on one line and a date beginning with JAN ---- (cannot read year). Number 8 on bottom of pot. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Have photos but do not know how to post. Thank you.

An inquiry about the same several years ago here was unfruitful. At that time, the poster read the year on theirs as being "1657", but that's far earlier than the US Patent Office was in existence. Most likely it's 1800 something. Not really seeing anything conclusive in the patent database. A patent (for whatever feature it's supposed to apply to) could have been awarded to someone else who assigned it to a J. Gibson.

Thank you for the reply to my post. Maybe this time someone will respond with more information. Yes, I am sure the year is 1800 something.
