JB Sherr Co???

Found this mini pan with the markings inside JB Sherr Co. I'm assuming it's a marketing piece and probably not very old, but have had NO luck finding anything online. Anyone ever seen this before?

It's an advertising ashtray. I googled J.B. Sherr and found an obituary for Julius B. Sherr. Here is a line from it that probably relates to your piece.
"J.B. came to San Francisco with his beloved wife Judy, in 1945, and soon after founded the J.B. Sherr Company, which grew to become the largest exclusive wholesale housewares firm in northern California."
 
Thank you both. Jeff S What makes you think it was an ashtray? I was able to pull up the obit, but not much else.

EdgarLopez, why a BSR?
 
Bsr has very distinctive handles,only BSR has that grove on top of the handle,I think it is a little skillet,some people call it ash tray.

There are numerous examples of these with different company logos that were sold or given away as promotional items back in day when smoking was no big deal. Some have "pour spouts" shaped to hold a cigarette while others like yours have a groove on top of the handle to hold it. There are still examples available today but are usually labeled as spoon rests/ashtrays.

Hi, I am J.B. Sherr's son. I found your ashtray today doing a Google search of J.B. Sherr Co. I wish I could provide more info about the little ashtray. I know my dad bought cast iron over the years from Griswold, Wagner and later, from Lodge. I never heard of BSR co., but I joined the company when it was 30 years old. Would you be willing to sell it? Here or on ebay? Thank you very much.
