Found this at an estate sale and accepted the challenge to bring it back to life. Could anyone tell me about its birth. She went into a vinegar soak before my e-tank.

By the shape of the bottom, and the gate mark, Im assuming its very old, like 1800s. Looks like it was meant to fit in a stove eye to me. On a different note, that 3rd pic the 8 looks like a nose, and a mouth, just no eyes. Good luck on the restoring!
