I've struggled with posting this thread due to the fact that I believe these pans were not cast by A. Klauer as listed in the C.I.C. Recourse's Data base. There is no (A. Klauer) in Dubuque, Iowa associated with cast iron but there was a Peter Klauer which formed the Klauer Manufacturing Company that began operations in 1870 and is still in operations today. I think that these "Klauer Pans" were possibly made by "The Iowa Iron Works" and or "The Adams Co." according to (Encyclopedia Dubuque) information. The Adams Co. made stove dampers, sad iron heaters, laundry stoves, floor heating vents and the such. Possibly these stick pans for Klauer were an advertising piece sold in Klauer's hardware store, but it's only a theory since there is no firm data to prove this.
The (A) on the stick pan is larger than the (A) used in Klauer's name which may have been "style A" or simply made by "Adams Co.
In any case....All three of the companies listed above were mainly into making steam boats and boilers, gears, etc., for merchant ships on the Mississippi River.
I should of copied the link to Klauer Manufacturing before posting this thread. Tried to go back and edit but it wouldn't let me so thought this would be the easiest way to show the connection. It is an interesting read.
